On October 19, 2026, Zillow launched an official Zillow connector for Claude. Anyone using Claude can now search homes for sale and for rent, check home values, view listing photos and maps, and estimate what they can afford, all inside the conversation.
Here's the part that matters if you want to earn from it: the connector doesn't take Zillow out of the picture. Every listing shown is a Zillow listing. Every "request a tour" or "contact an agent" goes into Zillow's agent network. Every "explore financing" goes to Zillow's financing options. Claude is a new front door, but the house is still Zillow's.
So the question isn't "How do I make money with AI?" It's "Where does money change hands in the Zillow funnel, and how do I get in that path?" This guide maps the funnel, then covers the Zillow-specific ways agents, landlords, investors, and side hustlers can earn through it heading into 2027.
How the Zillow connector works
The connector is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that lets AI assistants call outside tools. Zillow uses the same MCP connection for its ChatGPT app and runs a separate, rentals-only integration with Google's Gemini. (For background on connectors in general, see our guide to making money with AI connectors.)
According to Zillow's announcement and early coverage, the connector can:
- Search homes for sale and for rent from plain-English requests.
- Show listing details, including photos, prices, and maps, with links back to the full listing on Zillow.
- Pull home value estimates (Zestimates).
- Estimate affordability from income, down payment, and monthly budget.
- Offer next steps: request a tour, contact an agent, or explore financing.
And its limits:
- It doesn't access anyone's Zillow account. It can't see saved homes, saved searches, or search history, and no Zillow account is needed.
- It's consumer-facing. It doesn't connect to an agent's Zillow dashboard, leads, or Follow Up Boss CRM.
- Listings follow MLS display rules, with the same broker and MLS attribution as Zillow.com.
How to turn it on
- Open Claude on the web, desktop, or mobile.
- Go to Customize, then Connectors.
- Find Zillow and select Connect.
- Ask a housing question in a new chat. Mention Zillow by name if you want to make sure Claude uses it.
It works on web, desktop, iOS, and Android, though installing connectors on mobile is still in beta.
The Zillow funnel: where the money moves
Picture a buyer in Claude: "Find me a three-bedroom near downtown under $450k, and tell me what I can afford on $110k a year." Here's what happens next, and who earns at each step:
| Step in Claude | Where it goes in Zillow | Who earns |
|---|---|---|
| Sees listings | Zillow listing data, with broker attribution | Listing agents and brokers (exposure that leads to sales) |
| "Request a tour" or "contact an agent" | Zillow's agent network | Zillow partner agents: Premier Agent, Zillow Preferred, Zillow Pro members |
| "Explore financing" | Zillow's financing options | Zillow and its lending partners (not referring agents; see RESPA below) |
| Searches rentals | Zillow rental listings | Landlords and property managers listing through Zillow |
| Checks a home's value | Zestimate and listing data | Agents who turn curious owners into listing appointments |
Every way to earn below maps to one of those rows.
Ways to earn through Zillow
1. Be the agent Zillow sends the Claude buyers to (Agents)
When a Claude user taps "contact an agent" or "request a tour," Zillow routes that buyer to its partner agents. That's the most direct money in the whole funnel, and it goes to agents in Zillow's programs:
- Zillow Premier Agent: Zillow's long-running lead program for buyers in your markets.
- Zillow Preferred (formerly Zillow Flex): an invitation-only program with no upfront lead cost. You pay Zillow a success fee from your commission when a deal closes.
- Zillow Pro: a membership that rolled out nationwide in 2026. It bundles Follow Up Boss (the CRM Zillow owns), the My Agent client connection, and a Premium Agent Profile. Coverage of the rollout also mentions per-listing Zillow Showcase purchases and priority access to Premier Agent ZIP codes that had been sold out. Zillow has said Zillow Pro will become the main path into Zillow Preferred.
These programs cost real money, either up front or out of your commission, and availability depends on your market. Run the numbers against your other lead sources before joining. But if you already work Zillow leads, expect more of them to start in an AI chat in 2027. Those buyers often arrive having already browsed listings and run affordability numbers, so they're further along.
How Claude helps you convert them: use Claude with the Zillow connector to prepare a fast, specific first reply. When a lead comes in, ask Claude to search Zillow for homes matching what the buyer asked about, group them by area, and estimate payments. Then paste your personalized reply into Follow Up Boss.
A new Zillow lead asked about 3-bed homes under $450k near [area].
Using Zillow, find six active listings that match, with price, beds/baths,
days on market, and an estimated payment at 10% down. Draft a short,
friendly reply with those options and three questions to narrow the search.
Describe homes and commutes only, never who lives in a neighborhood.
2. Make your Zillow listings show up well in Claude (Listing agents)
When a buyer searches in Claude, the connector pulls from Zillow's listing data. Your listing's facts, photos, and description are what Claude has to work with. A listing with missing square footage, vague features, or a thin description gives Claude less to match against a buyer's request.
What to do:
- Fill in every fact field on Zillow: lot size, HOA, parking, heating and cooling, appliances, and updates with years.
- Write descriptions with the specific features buyers ask for in plain language ("fenced backyard," "first-floor primary suite," "EV charger in garage").
- Test it. In Claude, search the way a buyer would ("4-bed with a home office near [school district] under $600k") and see whether your listing comes up and how it's described.
- For high-value listings, consider Zillow Showcase, Zillow's premium listing format with richer media, which Zillow Pro members can buy per listing.
3. Turn Zestimate curiosity into listing appointments (Agents)
Homeowners love checking their Zestimate, and now they can do it in Claude. Some of those owners are quietly thinking about selling. Zillow Pro's "Likely to List" tag flags contacts in your Follow Up Boss database who may be getting ready to sell.
Workflow: when a contact is flagged, ask Claude to pull the home's Zestimate and nearby active listings from Zillow, then draft a short, no-pressure note offering a free pricing consult. Before the appointment, have Claude summarize nearby active competition from Zillow, then build your actual price recommendation from MLS sold comps.
4. List rentals where Claude users search (Landlords)
Renters can search Zillow rentals directly in Claude, and those results come from Zillow Rental Manager listings. If you own rentals, that's free exposure to a new group of searchers.
Zillow Rental Manager handles the full cycle:
- Listing is free for standard rentals, with optional paid premium placement.
- Applications and screening: renters pay the application fee, which covers screening reports.
- Leases and online rent collection, with bank transfers free for both sides.
How Claude helps: search Zillow rentals in Claude to see comparable units nearby and set a competitive rent. Then have Claude draft your listing so it includes the details renters ask for in plain language: pets, parking, laundry, utilities included, and lease length.
5. Screen deals with Zillow data (Investors)
Investors can use the connector to run first-pass screens: search Zillow for properties that fit a buy box, then pull comparable Zillow rental listings nearby to estimate rent.
Search Zillow for 2-4 unit properties under $400k in [ZIP codes]. For each,
find three comparable rentals on Zillow nearby and estimate monthly rent.
Build a table with price, Zestimate, estimated rent, rent-to-price ratio,
and rough cash flow using: [down payment, rate, taxes, insurance, vacancy,
maintenance]. Flag any number you had to guess.
6. Sell Zillow services to agents and landlords (Anyone)
Many agents and landlords know Zillow matters but don't have time to manage their presence on it. If you get good at Zillow plus Claude, you can sell that skill. None of these require a license, as long as you're doing marketing and admin rather than representing anyone in a deal.
- Zillow listing optimization: audit an agent's active listings for missing facts, weak descriptions, and how they show up in Claude searches. From around $75 to $150 per listing, or a monthly plan for busy listing agents.
- Agent profile makeover: rewrite a Zillow agent profile bio, organize recent sales, and set up a system for collecting reviews. Agents on Zillow Pro can also use the Premium Agent Profile's branding and video features. From around $200 to $400 one time.
- Zillow Rental Manager management: price units from Zillow comps, write listings, and draft replies to inquiries for small landlords. From around $100 per unit per listing cycle.
- Zillow lead response support: Premier Agent teams often hire inside sales agents (ISAs) to answer leads quickly. A Claude-assisted ISA can prepare listing shortlists for every lead in minutes. Paid hourly or per appointment set. Check your state's rules on what unlicensed assistants can say to buyers.
- Follow Up Boss and Zillow Pro setup: help teams configure lead routing, action plans, and templates. From around $500 per team.
7. Create content about Zillow listings (Anyone)
Commentary on Zillow listings is a proven content genre. Think of the viral accounts that tour the strangest, priciest, or best-value homes on Zillow. With the connector, Claude can help you find candidates fast ("the cheapest 3-bed homes in [state]," "listings under $300k with acreage") and draft scripts or newsletter write-ups with your own commentary.
How it pays: sponsorships, platform ad revenue, newsletter sponsors, and affiliate links to tools your audience needs (see below). Licensed agents also get leads.
8. Build on licensed Zillow data (Developers)
The connector is made for chatting, not for powering a product. If you want to build software (a deal analyzer, a market dashboard, a tool for a brokerage), you need data you're licensed to use. Zillow Group offers API access to approved partners through its data platform, and brokerages often have MLS data feeds they can use for approved purposes. With Claude Code, you can build quickly on top of that kind of licensed data. Our guide to building with the Claude API is a good starting point.
Affiliate programs that fit Zillow users
Zillow itself doesn't appear to run an open public affiliate program. Its partner programs (Premier Agent, Preferred, Zillow Pro) are for agents and brokerages. If you're creating content for people who use Zillow, these are the categories and names worth researching. We aren't linking to them on purpose, because terms change. Read each company's current program terms on its own site before joining.
For people who want to become the agent Zillow sends leads to
- The CE Shop, Real Estate Express, and Kaplan Real Estate Education: pre-licensing and continuing education courses.
- Coursera: real estate, finance, and AI courses. See our Real Estate Development course review.
For investors who shop on Zillow
- BiggerPockets: investor education, books, and memberships.
- PropStream and DealMachine: property data and off-market lead tools that complement Zillow's on-market listings.
For landlords who list on Zillow Rental Manager
- TurboTenant and RentRedi: landlord software for leases, maintenance, and accounting alongside a Zillow listing.
- Landlord insurance providers: several run partner programs. Read the rules on licensing and disclosure for insurance referrals in your state first.
For making Zillow listings look their best
- BoxBrownie and Virtual Staging AI: photo editing and virtual staging for listing photos. Always label virtually staged photos.
And whatever you promote, follow the FTC's rules: put a clear, plain disclosure right next to every affiliate link.
The compliance checklist
- Fair housing. No describing neighborhoods by protected traits, and no steering, in any Claude-drafted copy, reply, or video script. Review everything, and say so in your prompts.
- Licensing. If you're unlicensed, don't accept referral fees for buyers or sellers, negotiate, or present yourself as an agent.
- Accuracy. Zestimates and AI summaries can be wrong. Confirm listing status and key facts before sharing them.
- Zillow's terms. Use the official connector, don't scrape, and don't republish listing media you don't own.
- Human approval. Claude drafts, you send. No automated replies to Zillow leads or rental applicants without a person reviewing them, and never let AI decide which applicant gets a unit.
- Disclosure. Label AI-edited or staged photos, and disclose affiliate links.
A 30-day Zillow plan
Week 1: Turn on the Zillow connector in Claude. Run ten searches the way your buyers or renters would, and note what shows up and what's missing.
Week 2: Choose your path. Agents: compare Premier Agent, Preferred, and Zillow Pro in your market, and audit your own listings and profile. Landlords: price your next vacancy from Zillow comps. Everyone else: pick one Zillow service from idea 6.
Week 3: Build your reusable prompts and templates. Do three free or discounted jobs for feedback and testimonials.
Week 4: Launch. Set a price, publish a one-page offer, and tell your network. If you're creating content, publish on a schedule and join two or three affiliate programs that fit your audience.
The bottom line
The Claude connector puts Zillow search in front of a new group of buyers and renters, but the leads, listings, rentals, and financing still run through Zillow. In 2027, the people who earn from this will be the ones positioned on Zillow's side of that funnel: partner agents who answer fast, listing agents whose homes show up well, landlords who price from live comps, and specialists who manage all of it for others. In every case, check the AI's work and keep a human in charge.
